The shape is reminiscent of an apricot seed. It is a little plump and has a calm appearance.

The potter's clay is rich in iron and has long been blended for teapots. It is fired without glaze in a way that the iron content turns it black. In particular, by not glazing the inside of the pot, the fine irregularities on the surface moderately reduce the astringency of the tea, making it mellow and tasty.

This teapot was shaped in the image of an iron bowl held by a mendicant priest. It is the standard shape of Nankei Seitoen, which has been producing this teapot for more than 50 years. With its dignified appearance, it has been loved for a long time.

・Please note that the tea strainer portion has a very thin structure and may be damaged if it bumps against other tableware or if it is pressed too hard.
・When washing in a dishwasher, there is a possibility of breakage depending on usage conditions. It is recommended to hand-wash them individually.
・Quickly rinse the tea gara with water or hot water, drain well, and dry. Occasional exposure to sunlight to dry is more hygienic.
・If you are concerned about tea stains, soak the tea leaves overnight in diluted dishwashing oxygen bleach to clean them. Rinse thoroughly so that no odor remains, and dry well.

About Stoneware:
・Use a mild detergent to clean stoneware. Please do not use abrasive sponges, metal scrubbers, or cleansers. They may damage the vessel.
・The surface of the stoneware may be blackened due to the use of ceramic clay containing iron powder.

・The orange color inside the teapot is due to the reaction of the mineral component in the ceramic clay during firing.
・It is not mixed with another Ceramic clay or colored, it is a natural mineral color. Please be assured.

After firing, the kyusu (teapot) is "rubbed" together in order to firmly align the "lid and body". Rubbing powder is applied between the lid and body, and they are rubbed together while rotating each other. By doing so, the lid and body adhere to each other more tightly. This method has been used in the manufacturing process of authentic kyusu for a long time.
