SUZUSAN

Suzusan has its roots in Arimatsu, Japan, a small town renowned for its tradition of shibori, a dyeing technique that has been passed down for more than 400 years.

Hiroyuki Murase, creative director of Suzusan and the fifth generation of a family of Shibori artisans, grew up surrounded by this unique culture of craftsmanship. After moving to Europe, he began to explore how the knowledge and techniques inherited from generations of artisans could be brought into a contemporary context.

With Suzusan, traditional shibori has gradually moved beyond its conventional applications and found new expressions through contemporary fashion and interiors. Cashmere, wool, silk and other materials have become new canvases for the craft, while the subtle irregularities created by the human hand remain at the heart of every piece.

Today, Suzusan brings together the knowledge of generations with a continuous process of experimentation. Each creation is made by hand in Arimatsu, carrying forward the skills of the past while allowing the craft to continue evolving for the future.

SUZUSAN CIRCLE MARKET

Making by hand is also a process of experimentation, discovery and sometimes imperfection.

Subtle colour variations, tiny holes and irregular patterns can emerge along the way. Some pieces do not become part of the final collection, while other designs are created through experimentation but never released. For Suzusan, these pieces are not simply imperfections - they are traces of the creative process and an important part of the journey through which the craft continues to evolve.

Rather than letting these pieces go to waste, CIRCLE MARKET gives them a new life. One-of-a-kind knitwear, scarves and other special pieces are presented at special prices, allowing them to find their place with someone who will use and cherish them.

Through CIRCLE MARKET, what was once part of the process becomes the beginning of another story - a new cycle connecting the hands that make with the people who live with their creations.
