Kazuto Yoshikawa is woodworker, living in Tokyo, Originally from Fukushima prefecture.He graduated from Keio university  with a degree in commerce.

After he had worked for the furniture company, Cassina IXC in Japan for 12 years, He learned woodworking skills and studied the traditional Japanese culture of wood  in the school in Gifu prefecture where the most old wood-making industry remains.

Currently He lives and works in Tokyo, making furniture and daily utensils. 

・The motif is inspired by the river stones that flow through the town leading to Ise Grand Shrine.    

・The frame is crafted from curved cedar wood.    

・The intricate joinery is done by hand.                  

・This project is a collaboration between Toyota and the local community of Mr. Kazuto Yoshikawa , focusing on the sustainable utilisation of forest resources owned and managed by Toyota.                                              

・A portion of the profits is dedicated to forest conservation as a contribution back to the community.
